Normally one would assume that a Fusion module inside Resolve would be a pared down version, something to give quick compositing features to editors for temp VFX etc. Off topic now, but I always thought the mindset around Resolve Fusion was odd. Approved creators can open a seller account to distribute their content. The site’s main focus is to provide a plugins community for users of DaVinci Resolve and other film finishing / editing software.

In order to be an effective and viable competition to other products, Fusion standalone needs to be kept up to date with industry trends and features. Resolver Tools is a community marketplace and repository for film finishing apps, tools and programs. Better hardware utilization, USD, deep EXR compatibility, integration with game engines, are just a few needed updates. To me it seems illogical to continue adding features that are meant for a VFX pipeline into a color corrector, while neglecting the actual VFX software. Beyond reaching full parity between Resolve and Fusion standalone, more attention needs to be given to Fusion standalone as a product and platform.
